- Two veterans married to each other could enjoy $2,540 per month...or $30,480 per year
- A veteran with one dependent could enjoy $1,949 per month...or $23,388 per year
- A veteran with no dependents could enjoy $1,644 per month...or $19,728 per year
- A surviving spouse of a veteran could enjoy $1,056 per month...or $12,672 per year
*Based on 2009 estimated payments, paid directly to the veteran or spouse, increasing yearly; benefits are tax-free
