Recreation
Webster’s dictionary defines “recreation” as “refreshment of strength and spirit after work; a means of refreshment or diversion.” At Independence Village of Rockford, we know that recreation means different things to different people. That’s why we offer you so many activity choices.
Right on the premises, you can stay in shape with regular exercise classes. Not that physical? How about a game of billiards, cards, Wii games or Bingo? Maybe arts and crafts are your thing . . . or creative writing (we call it “Word Weavers”). We also have regularly scheduled entertainment, movies nights, and faith -based activities.
Around the area, we’ve got places to go, things to do . . . and a comfortable, convenient, accessible way to get you there. Our community bus delivers us to theater productions, concerts, museum trips and special events. We shop, go on boat rides, visit apple orchards and the local arboretum. And just when it seems we’ve done it all, we head off on casino outings, tours of fun places like the Jelly Belly candy factory – even local breweries – and so much more.
In short, at Independence Village of Rockford, “recreation” is pretty much whatever you want it to be . . . even if it means just relaxing over a great meal or making a new friend. What are you doing today?
